Drinks
We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of real ales, and on supporting independent East Anglian breweries. Our regular ale suppliers from across Norfolk and Suffolk include Lacon’s, Woodforde’s, Barsham, Humpty Dumpty, Cliff Quay, Moon Gazer, Artefact and many more.
For those who prefer lagers, we stock premium lines such as Adnam’s Dry Hopped and Bruha Lager, whilst we also serve Fosters and Guinness. We have an extensive range of premium gins and a variety of tonics to match.
The Fox has previously been judged Regional Cider Pub of the Year, and we have a broad offering of real ciders from the likes of Harleston Cider Co, Kingfisher Farm Cider and the Norfolk Cider Company.
In addition, we stock a range of premium red and white wines, spirits and lots of non-alcoholic offerings, including premium soft drinks such as raspberry lemonade, ginger beer and traditional lemonades, as well as Coca-Cola, J20 and more. And in the best tradition of a good English pub, we make a jolly nice pot of tea – or coffee.
Local Breweries
The Fox has always tried to support local Norfolk and Suffolk breweries wherever possible. Our real ales come from a range of large and small breweries across the two counties, and we usually have a selection of at least six on most weekends. Our regular suppliers include:
Woodforde's
Founded in 1981, and named in honour of Parson James Woodforde, an 18th century clergyman who wrote lovingly of his passion for good food and great beer. Popular ales include the well-known Wherry, named after a type of Broads sailing boat.
Lacons
Award-winning Great Yarmouth-based brewery established in 1760. Producer of ales such as Encore, Legacy and Affinity. An award-winning Brewery.
Boudicca
An independent Norfolk brewery, set up in 2015. All Boudicca beers are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, as the company does not use isinglass finings or any other animal products in its beers. It also makes a point of making as little environmental impact as possible and using locally-sourced ingredients whenever they are available.
Barsham
Brewer of ales such as Norfolk Topper and Oaks, the Barsham Brewery is based on the West Barsham Estate in north Norfolk, in an area renowned for its top quality agricultural soil, sea air and unique micro-climate, reckoned to help produce some of the best malting barley in the world.
Adnams
Based at Southwold on the Suffolk coast, Adnams is the regular supplier of our premium lager (Dry Hopped) and our tap bitters, Ghost Ship and Southwold.
Elmtree
Few of our suppliers are located as close to the Fox as Elmtree, based at nearby Snetterton, famous for its motor racing circuit. Among its beers we offer regularly are Best and Buston’s Cuckoo, while it also does a good line in seasonal ales including Snetterton Scary Tree and the dark porter Winter Solstice.
