THE FOX BUILDING
The Grade II-listed main building of The Fox, which stands on the crossroads of the A1066 and B1111 in the centre of Garboldisham, dates back to the 17th century. After falling into disrepair over some years of closure, it is slowly being repaired and restored, with the aim of preserving its character and providing a welcoming place for both locals and passers-by.
There are three main rooms to the interior: the Den, the Snug and the Long Room. All are warm and welcoming, with wood burners and wooden or tiled floors. With advance notice it is possible to reserve whole rooms for functions.
drink at THE FOX
We primarily support local independent breweries from Norfolk and Suffolk, and usually have between six and eight real ales on offer. We are proud to feature in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. We also specialise in real cider, and were voted Regional Cider Pub of the Year 2019. In addition we stock premium lagers such as Adnam's Dry Hop and keg bitters including Ghost Ship. The details of all the beers we stock can be found here.
For gin enthusiasts we also maintain a wide selection of specialist gins, and offer a range of premium mixers. For those seeking soft drinks, The Fox stocks premium products such as Fentiman’s ginger beer and lemonades, while we also have low- and no-alcohol bitters and lagers, and we also make good tea and coffee. In short, there’s something for everyone...
food at the fox
We host ‘street food’ caterers every Saturday night (6-9pm), with different local specialists from Norfolk and Suffolk setting up outside the pub to cook everything from paella and pizza to Greek, Indian and Thai.
We serve Sunday lunches on a regular basis, check the events calendar for more information.
We take pride in the quality of our bar snacks. Available throughout our opening hours, these include locally-made pork pies and sausage rolls. Once a month we also have an outside fish and chip supplier who provides delicious Fish & Chips on a Friday evening.
